About the service

What exactly does Compound One do?

We're a done-for-you YouTube production agency for financial services firms. We handle everything: content strategy, scripting, filming, editing, thumbnail design, SEO optimisation, and publishing.

You show up for one filming session per week and we take care of the rest. Your time commitment? 1-2 hours per month. That's it.

What's included in the monthly service?

How much time do I need to commit?

1-2 hours per month for filming. That's it. We handle everything before and after the camera turns on. Most of our clients film multiple videos in a single session to maximise efficiency.

What does onboarding look like?

We start with a strategy deep-dive — understanding your practice, your ideal clients, your competitors, and your goals. Then we build your first month of content topics, set up (or optimise) your YouTube channel, design your channel art and branding, and schedule your first filming session, all on week one.

Who do you work with?

We specialise in financial services: financial planners, wealth advisors, mortgage brokers, etc. We don't work with businesses outside financial services — this focus is what allows us to understand your compliance requirements, your audience, and what content will actually generate leads.

How often do you post?

Our standard is one video per week. Consistency is more important than frequency. One quality video per week is the sweet spot — enough to build momentum without burning out or diluting quality.

Do I need any equipment?

No. If you're in Melbourne, we bring everything — cameras, lighting, microphones, backdrops. If you're remote, we'll help you set up a simple, professional recording setup at cost and you get to keep everything.

Can I repurpose the video content?

Absolutely. Every video can be turned into short-form clips for LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok. The audio can be extracted as a podcast episode. Transcripts can be turned into blog posts or newsletter content. One filming session generates content across every platform.

Working Together

What's the minimum contract length?

We ask for a 6-month initial commitment. YouTube is a compounding channel — you won't see meaningful results in 30 days, and neither will we. The 6-month minimum ensures we have enough time to build your content library, establish your channel's authority, and start generating real traction.

How do we communicate?

Slack for day-to-day communication. You'll have a dedicated channel with your Compound One team. We also do monthly strategy calls to review performance, plan upcoming content, and adjust the strategy based on data.

What if I want to cancel?

After the initial 6-month period, you can cancel with 30 days' notice. You keep everything: your YouTube channel, all videos, all content. Nothing is locked behind our account. If you ever want to bring production in-house or move to a different agency, you own all the assets.

Can I review content before it goes live?

Yes. Every script is sent to you for review before filming. You'll see final edits before publishing. We also coordinate with your compliance team if needed. Nothing goes live without your approval.

Compliance

How do you handle ASIC and AFSL compliance?

We've built our entire process around it. Every script includes appropriate general advice disclaimers. We understand the boundaries of RG 234 — what you can and can't say on YouTube under an AFSL. Do you review content before publishing?

Yes — every time. Our process is:

1. We write the script
2. You review
3. Your compliance team reviews (if applicable)
4. We film
5. We edit
6. You approve the final edit
7. We publish

There are multiple checkpoints to ensure nothing goes live that shouldn't.

What disclaimers are needed on YouTube videos?

At minimum, your video descriptions should include: your AFS licence number, a general advice warning, and your licensee details. We include these as standard in every video we produce. Depending on your licensee's requirements, additional verbal disclaimers during the video may be needed — we'll work with your compliance team to determine exactly what's required.

Pricing

How much does it cost?

Our full done-for-you YouTube production service starts at $12,000 per month (plus GST). This covers everything: strategy, scripting, filming, editing, thumbnails, SEO, publishing, and monthly reporting.

What's included in the $12K/month?

Everything listed above in "What's included in the monthly service?" — there are no hidden fees or add-ons. Strategy, scripting, filming, editing, thumbnails, SEO, publishing, and reporting. The only thing we don't cover is paid advertising (YouTube Ads), which is separate and optional.

Is there a setup fee?

No. Onboarding, channel setup, branding, and your first strategy session are included. You pay your first month's fee and we get started.

Can I start with fewer videos per month?

Our standard service is built around one video per week because that's what works. Fewer than that and you won't build enough momentum to see meaningful results. We've tested this extensively and weekly publishing is the minimum effective cadence for financial services channels.
